Ashley Harding > Riva was making a documentary about one of the survivors, Faigie. But when entering this room and looking around she said, "I can't film here". I took this photo as we waited to exit.
Ashley Harding > A sixty foot wide, twenty feet high pile of ashes of those who were burned at Majdanek. Among them were Pinchas' entire family.
Ashley Harding > Roses laid on the ashes in memories of those who lost their lives at the hands of the Nazi.
Ashley Harding > The holding place for the ashes of those burned at Majdanek, left, and the chimney of the crematorium that made them on the right.
Ashley Harding > The view from our hotel in Warsaw, Poland. The view reminded me of what the Warsaw Ghetto might have looked like during WWII. I am probably far off though. I converted it to black and white to show that feeling of the past because the Warsaw Ghetoo no longer exists.
Ashley Harding > A view from our hotel room in Warsaw. The is the arts and science building that the Russian government built as a 'gift' to the people of Poland they kept unwillingly under the thumb of Soviet rule after WWII.
Ashley Harding > A picture of me in the bathroon mirror light of the room we stayed in in Warsaw, Poland.
Ashley Harding > I pumped up the green in this shot of the Jewish cemetery in Warsaw because I wanted to show that of all the places that were the most peaceful and beautiful on our trip it was the old Jewish cemeteries because, even though marking death, gave us an idea of how the Jewish community lived before the Shoah.
